A Little Bit About The Mooching Post
Hello! I'm Kirsty, and I'm so pleased you've found your way here.
If you know me from Instagram or YouTube, you'll know that I spend a lot of my time mooching around shops, finding lovely things, sharing ideas and chatting away.
And I absolutely love it.
But I've been thinking for a while that I'd like to find another way to connect with the people who follow me. Something a little more personal.
These days, everything seems to happen through a screen. Emails, newsletters, messages, notifications, social media. We're constantly being encouraged to sign up for something else, download another app or spend another five minutes looking at our phones.
And sometimes, I think it would be lovely to have something that doesn't involve a screen at all.
That's when I discovered the wonderful world of snail mail, and I knew immediately that it was something I wanted to create.
Whatever Happened to Lovely Post?
Think about the last time you received something lovely through your letterbox.
Not a bill. Not a parking ticket. Not a council tax reminder. And definitely not another leaflet from somebody trying to sell you something.
We live next to quite a lot of greenbelt, and I reckon at least once a week I receive a letter from a developer wanting to buy the fields around our house.
Usually to build something like a Lidl.
Which, admittedly, would be quite convenient.
Unfortunately, it's not my land to sell, so unless I'm planning some elaborate con worthy of an episode of Hustle, I don't think that's going to happen.
But you get my point.
When did receiving the post stop being something to look forward to?
Apart from birthdays and Christmas, we hardly ever receive a proper letter or a handwritten note anymore.
And I think that's rather sad.
So, I Created The Mooching Post
I've always loved making things.
As a child, I was obsessed with stickers, and that hasn't really changed. I've always loved stationery, paper, beautiful little details and creating things you can actually hold in your hands.
I love the whole process of coming up with an idea, designing it, putting everything together and turning it into something real.
So I thought, why not combine all those things with something I love even more, connecting with people?
And that's how The Mooching Post was born.
Every month, I put together a special envelope filled with little things I've created, chosen and enjoyed, all inspired by a different theme.
But the most important part is the letter.
A Letter From Me to You
Every month, I'll sit down and write you a proper letter.
I actually write it out by hand first, before typing it up, because I want it to feel like I'm sitting down and having a chat with you.
I'll tell you about things I've been doing, places I've visited, things I've discovered, funny little moments and whatever else has happened in my world that month.
Just the sort of things we'd talk about if we were sitting together with a cup of tea.
And alongside that letter, I'll include a little collection of things to enjoy.
There'll be an original A6 art print that doubles as a postcard. You can keep it for yourself, or write a note on the back and send it to somebody else.
I particularly love that idea. Imagine if every person who received The Mooching Post sent their postcard to someone who wasn't expecting it. Just a little hello to brighten somebody else's day.
The Monthly Mooch Newspaper
You'll also receive your very own copy of The Monthly Mooch, a little newspaper I've created especially for subscribers.
It'll be filled with my favourite high street finds, home inspiration, clever ideas, shopping discoveries and things I've spotted that I think you'll love.
Think of it as a little extra helping of everything we enjoy together on my YouTube channel, but in something you can actually sit down, read and keep!
A Few Little Surprises
There'll also be my monthly sticker collection.
Now, if you've watched my shopping videos, you'll know I'm forever spotting things I love in the shops. So each month, I'll turn some of those little discoveries and inspirations into a collection of miniature stickers.
You can use them in your diary, journal, scrapbook, or wherever you fancy.
I'll also include a little paper surprise each month. It might be a bookmark, a recipe card, a handy organiser or something completely different that I've designed for you.
I love the idea of keeping this part a surprise, so you'll never quite know what little extra might be tucked inside your envelope!
And because I love music, every edition will have its own handpicked Spotify playlist. Something you can pop on while you open your envelope, make a cup of tea or have a little mooch around the house.
Everything is designed to be enjoyed, used, kept or shared.
